'Watch out Music Row': Ole beefs up country roster with Parallel Music acquisition

Music publishing company Ole has made another big move in country music by acquiring the full Parallel Music Publishing catalogue.

Canada-based Ole snapped up Parallel’s 6,500 songs, including deals with six active songwriters and huge country hits such as The Band Perry’s Better Dig Two and Kelsea Ballerini’s Love Me Like You Mean It. As part of the deal, Parallel co-founder and managing partner Tim Hunze joins Ole as senior director of creative. He will be based in Nashville and work with Ole’s roster of songwriters and artists.

“This acquisition checks so many boxes for us,” said Ole VP of creative, John Ozier. “Parallel has a great roster of writers and artists; the staff is incredibly well-respected and knowledgeable, and the momentum built by Tim Hunze and his team continues to grow. We’re proud to have them as part of the Ole family now.”

“I am so fired up to join John and his team,” added Hunze. “I think joining forces will create some amazing momentum for all our writers and artists. Watch out Music Row, Ole is coming in hot.”

The move comes after Ole signed or extended deals with country writers such as Jordan Davis and Tammi Kidd Hutton.
