Bing Crosby has today (November 29) returned to the UK album charts for the first time in over 40 years.
The late star’s brand new orchestral album with Decca, Bing At Christmas, in which he is accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra, finished at No.9 – the last time Crosby entered the Top 10 was 1977, the year in which he died.
Speaking about the position, Crosby’s daughter Mary Crosbys said: "Our family is thrilled that yet another generation has embraced dad's music with this wonderful album"
Last year, Decca also helped Buddy Holly return to the UK charts sixty years after he first entered them with 1958’s The Chirping Crickets.
Bing Crosby's iconic White Christmas is the biggest-selling single of all time, and continues to attract huge numbers on streaming platforms. The single currently stands on 157 million streams on Spotify alone.
