Blondie have today (April 26) released Fragments, another brand new song taken from their upcoming album Pollinator – which finally hits shelves on May 5 via BMG.
Fragments is the final track of the album and was adapted by the band from a sample of the Vancouver based indie artist Adam Johnston aka An Unkindness.
In a recent Music Week interview, Blondie’s co-founder and guitarist Chris Stein spoke of their work with numerous songwriters for their latest album.
“I think it probably started with the Johnny Marr track [My Monster],” said Stein. “That was an idea that came from BMG [which handle Marr’s publishing], so I was a little sceptical of a record company-induced song. But when I listened to it, I thought, This is fucking fantastic and kept playing it over and over again. That got us reaching out to more people for more material.”
Blondie have also announced their very first pop-up shop, which is set to take place in Camden Market in London (April 29 – May 3) as well as a unique photography exhibition by the band's co-founder and guitarist, Chris Stein.
