Execs have warned of the continuing “challenges” of breaking new talent as eight UK debut artists finished in the Top 100 sellers of 2017.
As well as successful campaigns from Stormzy, Dua Lipa and Rag’N’Bone Man, debut solo records from familiar faces Liam Gallagher and Harry Styles ensured there was no repeat of the dearth of 2016 breakthroughs when just three UK debut acts cracked the Top 100.
