Coldplay have taken an early lead over Robbie Williams in one of the most anticipated chart battles of the year.
The band's new album Everyday Life has moved 52,576 units so far, according to the Official Charts Company midweek sales flash. Williams' first festive LP, The Christmas Present, follows at No.2 on 48,291 sales, while Rod Stewart's You're In My Heart has shifted 20,093 copies to complete an all-new Top 3.
