Luis Fonsi’s Despacito Feat. Daddy Yankee has become the first video in YouTube history to surpass 5 billion views.
The track officially became the most viewed video in YouTube history in August last year, moving ahead of previous record holder See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, and has continued to gather pace.
There are 19 videos that have passed the 2bn views mark, including PSY’s Gangnam Style, Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk (Feat. Bruno Mars), Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass, and The Chainsmokers’ Closer.
Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift each have two entries in the list - Shape of You and Thinking Out Loud, and Shake It Off and Blank Space respectively, all exceeding 2bn.
