Not a single homegrown debut album released in 2016 has gone platinum, gold or even silver in the first half of the year, Music Week analysis of Official Charts Company figures reveals.

The statistic comes ahead of the publication of the official Q2 figures this week and will set alarm bells ringing about the recent steady flow of successful British talent drying up.
