Foals have been announced as headliners of this year’s Citadel Festival.
In a UK exclusive festival appearance, the Oxford indie band will close the event on Sunday, July 16. Now in its third year, the one-day event takes place in London’s Victoria Park. Previous acts to have played Citadel include Bombay Bicycle Club, Ben Howard, Caribou and Sigur Rós.
After forming in 2005, Foals fast established themselves on the UK live scene and headlined Reading & Leeds Festivals last summer. Their most recent album, 2015’s What Went Down, peaked at No.3 and has sold 143,304 copies to date. Their biggest-selling record remains 2013’s Holy Fire, which has 190,075 sales to date and achieved a peak chart placing of No.2.
In 2013 Q Magazine named Foals as Best Live Act, then in 2015, Best Act In The World.
Pre-sale for Citadel starts on Friday (January 27), with tickets priced at £39.50 plus booking fee. Tickets go on general sale Monday (January 30).
