Marathon Music Group meets Afro Nation

Marathon Music Group’s in-house imprint Moves Recordings has entered an agreement with Afrobeats festival Afro Nation.

Afro Nation Vol #1, out in November, will be the first release in an ongoing series of curated releases and features Afrobeats rising stars Bog, Tiwa Savage among others. 

 

Modest on the box

Entertainment executive Andrea Hamilton and Modest Management are forming a new production company called Modest TV.

The firm will produce a seven-part Saturday night series for BBC One entitled Little Mix: The Search.

The Modest Management is owned by Harry Magee and Richard Griffiths and represent Little Mix, Olly Murs, Nial Horran, 5 Seconds of Summer, Katherine Jenkins and Alison Moyet among others. 

 

Old Town Road is a gem 

Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road' featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, has officially reached diamond status making it the first country/hip-hop song to be certified by the Recording Industry Association of America for 2020.

The song previously made history back in July, breaking the record for the most time spent at No.1 on the Hot 100 for a straight 19 weeks. 

 

Cardi B hits the big screen…again!

In a video captioned “Last day in the UK,” actor Van Disel revealedthat rapper Cardi B will appear in the upcoming 9th instalment of the Fast & Furious.

This will be the Cardi B’s first big film role since she appeared as a stripper named Diamond in Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez.

The movie will be released on May 22, 2020.
