'Good ears, great instinct': AWAL's Matt Riley promoted to VP, A&R

AWAL has announced the promotion of Matt Riley to the position of VP, A&R.

Riley, who previously served as director or creative, will be based in Kobalt’s London office and will oversee AWAL’s UK A&R team.

In his former role, Riley signed a number of notable independent artists to AWAL including Tom Misch, Bruno Major, The Wombats, Vérité, Joe Hertz, The Night Cafe, and Neneh Cherry.

Riley and his team are responsible for the selection of artists and labels applying to partner with AWAL, while identifying and developing emerging acts. The team also sign artists to label services deals with AWAL Recordings and support new acts with AWAL in the US.
