Greg Lake, frontman with rock outfits King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 69 years old.
The British artist was a pioneering figure in the world of prog rock, establishing himself as one of the genre’s most influential musicians during the 1970s.
Lake passed away on Tuesday following what his manager described as “a long and stubborn battle with cancer”.
Earlier this year, Lake’s bandmate Keith Emerson died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
