The Classic BRIT Awards 2018 has revealed nominations for the revived ceremony this summer, including a new category for Soundtrack Of The Year. The Greatest Showman, the biggest album release of 2018, will be up against Hans Zimmer for his multiple nominations.
The Classic BRITs takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on June 13. It will also be screened on ITV.
Dame Vera Lynn has landed two nominations for the awards, as well as being the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other multiple nominees include Sheridan Smith and Michael Ball & Alfie Boe. The Decca duo have sold more than a million copies of their two albums. Classic BRIT Awards co-host Alexander Armstrong also receives two nominations.
The younger generation of classical talent is recognised, with nominations for Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Tokio Myers and Tina Guo, who released an album of video game music.

I am also thrilled that British music legend Dame Vera Lynn is honoured as our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.”
Ten artists will compete in the Classic FM Album Of The Year category.

The Classic BRIT Awards has been revived after five years with a new approach that will celebrate the growing appeal of classical and music from film, television, theatre and games.
Armstrong will host the awards alongside Myleene Klass.
