Jake Clemons announces new album on BMG

Jake Clemons has announced details of a new album. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who tours as a saxophonist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, has signed with BMG and will release Fear & Love next year.

The album was produced by Clemons along with Ryan Swinehart and engineered by L Stu Young (Prince) and Geoff Sanoff (Bruce Springsteen). It was recorded at A Room With No VU - Ontario's Empire Studios, Steve Van Zandt’s Renegade Studio in New York and Sick Island Studios, Nashville.

Clemons - who is currently on Springsteen’s The River world tour, his third with the band - said: “For years I felt like the record industry had changed dramatically and that it would no longer be a venue for creative art.  BMG has shown a sincere love for music and a simple yet innovative approach to create an honest and sustainable platform for their artists. I am thrilled to have found a home at BMG for my first full-length record.” Clemons called the album “a journey that forges through loss and hardship.”

The 36-year-old formed his band in 2010 and has been touring on-and-off since then. He cemented a place in The E-Street Band after filling in for his uncle, Clarence Clemons, who died in 2011 aged 69. He has also performed with Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters and The Roots.

Fear & Love is set for release on January 13 2017.
