YouTube star LadBaby has claimed the Christmas No.1 after a surge in download sales sent his novelty track We Built This City (On Sausage Rolls) clear of nearest contenders Ava Max and Ariana Grande.
The track, a light-hearted cover of Starship’s '80s hit, sold 75,442 copies (70,378 of which were downloads) to go straight in at the singles summit, comfortably holding off Max's Sweet But Psycho (56,886 sales) and previous chart-topper Thank U, Next (51,475 sales) by Ariana Grande.
Elsewhere, perennial festival favourite All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey moves 5-4 on sales of 35,896 and Halsey's Without Me (35,346) completes the Top 5.
The Greatest Showman OST is the No.1 album, selling a further 68,606 units to take its overall sales past 1.5 million. Love (57,486 sales) by Michael Buble is at No.2, exchanging places with George Ezra's Staying At Tamara's, which sells 55,099 copies but dips to No.3. The LP has now been certified double platinum with total sales of 650,132.
Roy Orbison And The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are a non-mover at No.4 with Unchained Melodies (52,196 sales) and Take That also stay put at No.5 with Odyssey (38.683 sales), while Bruce Springsteen's live album Springsteen At Broadway is a new entry at No.6 after shifting 38,430 copies.
