Led Zeppelin’s copyright case over Stairway To Heaven is finally over.
The band were sued in 2014 over claims the famous opening riff was taken from the song Taurus, recorded by US band Spirit.
Although Led Zeppelin won the case four years ago, it then went to appeal. The original verdict was upheld earlier this year.
Now the US Supreme Court has declined to hear the case, which now ends the legal claim.
In the original trial, guitarist Jimmy Page testified that he had been unaware of Spirit’s song.
Musicologists gave evidence that the descending pattern of both songs had been a common musical device for centuries.
