Liam Gallagher unveils solo album details, announces tour

Liam Gallagher has announced details of his debut solo album as well as a four-date tour of the UK and Ireland.

The former Oasis singer’s first record under his own name will be released via Warner Bros in October, and lead single Wall Of Glass is now available to pre-order.

Gallagher’s first live dates kick off with a gig a Manchester Ritz on May 30, all profits from which will be donated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, organised by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross.

Tickets for that show, as well as others in London (Brixton Electric, June 1), Dublin (Olympia Theatre, June 10) and Glasgow (Barrowlands, June 11) are on sale now.

Gallagher appears on the cover of the latest edition of NME, discussing As You Were in a new interview. He worked with co-writers Greg Kurstin, Andrew Wyatt and Simon Aldred on the album, which the singer revealed was originally titled Bold.

Discussing his comeback, he added: “I want to get back to doing my job, playing rock’n'roll to the people who like it. I love it and people can see that. You can tell by that big vein down the side of my neck.”

Gallagher is also due to play Reading & Leeds Festivals in August. Back in December, Music Week broke the news of the singer’s publishing deal with Warner/Chappell.

As You Were will be Gallagher’s first release since 2013’s Beady Eye album BE.
