Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington dies aged 41

Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has died aged 41, the LA County Coroner says.

According to the coroner’s reports, Bennington apparently hanged himself. The frontman’s body was found at a private home in the county at 9am local time (5pm GMT) on Thursday (July 20).

Formed in 1996, Linkin Park have sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and have won two Grammy Awards.

Instrumental in the nu-metal movement of the early 2000s, the band released debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000 and had hits including Faint, In The End and Crawling. They also collaborated with rapper Jay Z.

Linkin Park’s most recent album, One More Light, was released in May.
