Little Barrie have said they are “devastated” by the death of their drummer, Virgil Howe.
Howe, who was the son of Yes guitarist Steve Howe, died on Monday night (11 September) at the age of 41.
The drummer recorded four albums with Little Barrie, as well as the title theme song for AMC TV series Better Call Saul. He also collaborated with his father, including drumming on the 2003 Elements solo album.
“Due to the tragic, unexpected death of guitarist Steve Howe’s beloved younger son, Virgil, Yes regrettably announces that the remaining dates of their Yestival Tour have been cancelled,” said Yes in a statement.
"We are heartbroken that we have lost our dear friend and brother Virgil Howe,” said Little Barrie frontman Barrie Cadogan. “Our thoughts are with his daughter, family and partner. Please respect their privacy during this difficult time."
“I am utterly devastated to lose my friend and a positive force in my life,” said bassist Lewis Wharton.
Little Barrie had been due to commence a tour in Cambridge last night (12 September). Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
