Independent charity Help Musicians UK has announced that its support service Music Minds Matter will have its own official anthem.
Fighter, recorded by emerging artist Tyni, will help raise funds for the 24/7 mental health support line by generating revenues from streaming services such as Spotify.
On the meaning of the song, Tyni explained: “Everybody has a reason to fight for something in life. I’ve been through heartbreak and sometimes your own mind is the worst place you can be.
“That’s why I’m hugely passionate about supporting HMUK’s Music Minds Matter service. It’s so important that the service is there to support people working in music through dark times.”
The CEO of Help Musicians UK, Richard Robinson added: “Help Musicians UK is delighted to be working with Tyni, a star in the making who has brought us the Music Minds Matter official anthem.
“Through our innovative campaign to ‘donate with a play’, we know the song will really resonate and raise the profile of the much needed service and raise additional funds, to support even more people and expand it beyond the UK.”
Tyni has worked with songwriters and producers such as Wayne Wilkins, MNEK, PC Music’s Sophie and Charli XCX. Fighter was co-written by Josh Record and Wayne Wilkins.
Tyni will release new material in the coming weeks, including a live version and video of Fighter, plus new remixes of the single.
Music Minds Matter is the music industry’s first dedicated mental health support line and service, which was launched in December 2017.
