ABBA’s virtual reality project has resulted in the group recording new material together for the first time in more than 35 years.
While no release date has been set, the Swedish group issued a joint statement confirming that a new song, I Still Have Faith In You, “feels good”. It will be performed in December on a TV special broadcast by the BBC and NBC.
The studio reunion came about as an “unexpected consequence” of the ABBA avatar tour project.
Benny Andersson released an album of piano music, including versions of ABBA compositions, through Deutsche Grammophon/UMG last autumn.
ABBA’s pop legacy is currently being celebrated with an exhibition at the Southbank Centre until April 29.
