Rita Ora has signed with PPL for the administration of her international neighbouring rights collections outside the US.
As revealed in the latest issue of Music Week, Ora has moved to PPL as the organisation continues to build its roster of artists for global public performance royalties in an increasingly competitive market. Kobalt previously collected her neighbouring rights royalties.
PPL is set to reveal its 2017 international collections in the coming months, following a record figure for 2016. The organisation recently made its highest international quarterly payout of £18.5 million to performer and label members.
Peter Leathem, chief executive at PPL, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rita Ora to the PPL family. She is a multi-talented artist with a very distinctive sound and an impressive catalogue of hits behind her. PPL has 86 agreements in place across 41 countries from the USA, throughout Europe, and in South America and Asia. Leathem has credited its relationships with other international organisations in helping to maximise revenues for members.
