Sam Smith has finally announced details of his second album, which is expected to be one of the biggest Q4 releases of the year. His 2014 debut has sold more than 12 million copies worldwide.
The Thrill Of It All is released by Capitol on November 3. Fans who pre-order the album receive the song Pray as an instant grat track.
Smith worked with regular collaborator Jimmy Napes as well as Timbaland, Malay, Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd and Stargate. He also collaborated with unsigned artist YEBBA on No Peace.
Speaking to Music Week ahead of the announcement, Capitol co-president Jo Charrington said: “Sam is an incredible artist who we’re very proud to have signed to Capitol. We can’t wait for the world to hear his music and are extremely ambitious for his album.”
UK retailers including HMV and Sainsbury’s have also predicted a strong performance by the album in Q4. Taylor Swift's Reputation, released November 10, will now have to take on Smith in the race for No.1 the week after his record drops.
After three weeks at No.1, Smith’s comeback single Too Good At Goodbyes is currently battling it out with Rockstar by Post Malone Feat. 21 Savage.
The singer is recording a BBC special on October 17 for broadcast in November.
