Skepta has been added to the line-up for this year’s Hyundai Mercury Prize awards show.

The rapper, who won last year with his No.2, gold selling album Konnichiwa, will perform alongside Alt-J, Blossoms, Dinosaur, Glass Animals, J Hus, Kate Tempest, Loyle Carner, Sampha, Stormzy, The Big Moon and The xx, all of whom are shortlisted. Ed Sheeran is the 12^th nominee.

Actor and DJ Idris Elba will also appear at the ceremony, which takes place on September 14 at London’s Eventim Apollo, as a guest presenter.

Elba said: “The Hyundai Mercury Prize is a huge moment in the music calendar and I’m so happy to be involved. It is so important that we continue to celebrate the album as a work of art and this is a special night to celebrate the incredible shortlisted artists.”

The ceremony will be hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and will be broadcast on BBC Four and 6 Music. BBC Two will broadcast a special preview documentary on September 10.
