Don Letts, Jah Wobble and Peaches are among the confirmed speakers for this year’s 10th anniversary Sound City conferences.
Taking place on Friday, May 26, the Sound City conference will feature a programme of workshops, seminars and panel sessions covering a wide range of industry topics.
This year’s ‘Revolutions’ theme is designed to allow speakers to ‘explore the wider context of British rock and roll revolutions’ and focus some of the largest cultural explosions from the past 50 years including the ‘60s British Invasion, punk rock, Britpop and acid house.
Influential bass player Jah Wobble - founder member of Public Image Limited alongside former Sex Pistol John Lydon – will talk through his career, while Veteran DJ, filmmaker and founding member of Big Audio Dynamite, Don Letts will be sharing stories from across his 40-year career.
Andrew Weatherall will discuss the story of acid house as a DJ, remixer, producer and label boss, while musician and performance artist Peaches will discuss art and her ‘mandate to be a one-woman cultural revolution’.
The day will be hosted by author and DJ Dave Haslam and rock ’n’ roll historian Jennifer Otter Bickerdike.
The conference will be announcing further speakers, panels and activities over the coming weeks.
