Stormzy has made a long-anticipated return with new single Vossi Bop, out now on #Merky via Atlantic.
The rapper dropped the new video, which features a cameo from Idris Elba (pictured with Stormzy above, right), earlier today. It has over 369,000 views on YouTube so far. The track was produced by Chris Andoh.
Following the release of his chart-topping debut album Gang Signs & Prayer in February 2017, Stormzy won the coveted album prize at the 2018 BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello Award.
Gang Signs & Prayer has sold 376,204 copies to date according to the Official Charts Company. Stormzy’s best-selling single is Shut Up, which peaked at No.8 and has 975,510 sales. The track has more than 93 million streams on Spotify.
More new music is expected from Stormzy in the coming weeks, ahead of his headline appearance at Glastonbury later this summer.
Since Gang Signs & Prayer, Stormzy’s #Merky imprint signed a deal with Atlantic Records, while the Croydon rapper launched The Stormzy Scholarship with Cambridge University and unveiled #Merky Books in partnership with Penguin Random House.
