Music industry tributes to Leonard Cohen have been pouring in since the singer's death was announced in the early hours of this morning (UK time).
Sony/ATV Music Publishing has provided the following statement: “Sony/ATV is deeply saddened by the passing of Leonard Cohen, a poet in the truest sense and someone whose treasure of songs we are proud to have represented over many years. He has been a unique and positive influence for six decades and it says everything about the enduring power of his music that just weeks before his death a brand new album by him was topping charts around on the world.”
Bob Dylan once paid tribute to Cohen, saying, "As far as I’m concerned, Leonard, you’re Number 1. I’m Number Zero." Now, artists including Lily Allen, Arcade Fire singer Win Butler, Regina Spektor and Rosanne Cash have followed suit. Read tweets from them, and a selection of other musicians below.
Leonard Cohen died aged 82 and released a new album, You Want It Darker, last month.

L. Cohen was an angel of cultural redemption. From his tower of song he delivered a beautiful sermon of dark romance and quiet resistance.
