Tributes have been paid to Claudia Fontaine (pictured, far left), who has died aged 57.
As part of the group Afrodiziak, she featured regularly as a backing vocalist for performers on Top Of The Pops in the Eighties.
Fontaine sang with artists including The Jam, Annie Lennox, Elvis Costello And The Attractions, Betty Boo, Dusty Springfield, Claudia Brücken, Julia Fordham, Marilyn, Pink Floyd, Madness, Neneh Cherry, The Specials, Heaven 17, Hothouse Flowers and Howard Jones.
Pink Floyd recruited Fontaine for the 1994 tour of The Division Bell, which was recorded for the Pulse album the following year. She also sang on Free Nelson Mandela by The Special AKA, as well as recording with The Beatmasters.
Sad news of the passing of singer and light in the music world Claudia Fontaine. I recently recorded with Claudia who sang with everyone, Elvis Costello, Mariyn. The list goes on. Claudia was always happy and hilarious. One love Claudia.
