Coming almost six years after the original Nishio, Nishio 2 forgoes the fractured fizz of its predecessor in favour of something sleeker and more rounded.
Making use of producer Giraffage, the track floats in on a bed of upbeat icy synths, a palate that will surely appeal to fans of Tycho’s work.
Rather than ambient electronia however, the track rapidly descends in to frothy, sugary convulsions; its vocal hook a warped refrain that’s impossible to shake.
Despite being the third single to be taken from their 1749 EP, it’s arguably the most anticipated, with SoundCloud plays reaching over 100k in under a week.
Bouncy, bubbly and utterly infectious, it’s easy to see why people were so eager for it to drop.
