I first discovered Lili Caseley when we premiered the music video for her first single.
The message of love and friendship behind We Could Still Be Friends was a very personal story for a first release, and I was intrigued to hear what she would come with next. Lili is a young pop artist in her early 20s from Kentish Town, and struck me as someone who has an interesting and mature take on how she approaches songwriting.
Her recent second single, Have I Ever, has been a staple on my playlist, and she continues to showcase her unique take on modern pop. Her laidback, lo-fi style draws interesting references and viewpoints that dial up her Portuguese heritage and love of traditional Fado music. She cites current references including Billie Eilish and Beyoncé, alongside writers such as JD Salinger and Antoine De Saint-Exupéry.
This mix makes her an interesting proposition, lending a mature edge to a fresh sound. Her visuals and imagery have reflected this, and overall it feels refreshing, cool and classic. At Notion, our aim is to champion new, exciting artists, I can’t wait to see where Lili goes next.
