WHO: A “multimedia collective, comprising members from different cities, ethnicities and origins”. New LP Anchoring Point sees group leader Choy and Mohammad Ali Sharar head up a seven-piece band.

WHAT: Spiky and unpredictable punk, with awesome funk percussion.

WHERE: Crack Cloud are part of Calgary, Alberta’s grimy punk scene.

THEY SOUND… INTERESTING?
Massively. Two recent London shows whipped up a frenzy of excitement and almost certainly sparked at least one conversation featuring delirious comparisons to Talking Heads.

WHAT’S THE LP LIKE?
Released via Coventry-based indie Tin Angel in the UK, Anchoring Point is an 11-track tangle of danceable punk rhythms, rattling and clanking into oblivion. Social commentary and human compassion lurk in the lyrics.

I’M SOLD!
Great news. Few records will lodge in your mind as intensely this summer.
