Making Waves: Sorry

Making Waves: Sorry

Each week, Music Week profiles a red hot brand new artist. This week, it's grungy London four-piece Sorry, who have a headline London show in December and are about to head out on tour with Childhood...

KEY TRACK: Prickz
LABEL: Unsigned
TWITTER: @sorrybanduk
MANAGEMENT: Golden Arm

WHO: Guitarists Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen, plus bassist Campbell Baum and drummer Lincoln Barrett.

WHAT: Grunge and indie-pop, distilled into relatable three-minute, lo-fi hits.

WHERE: North London, although Sorry are aligned with Shame and the rag-tag bunch operating south of the river.

HANG ON, WEREN’T THEY ORIGINALLY CALLED FISH?
Yes. The change came after fans of Marillion pointed out the quartet shared it with Fish, the neo-prog outfit’s former singer, who is still performing solo under the moniker.

FAIR ENOUGH. HAS EVERYTHING ELSE STAYED THE SAME?
Best mates Asha and Louis have added a rhythm section and are still developing their threadbare sound, honing their self-recorded intimacy.

THAT SOUNDS GOOD, CAN I HEAR THEM?
You bet. Sorry’s Home Demos mixtape dropped last week, they play Mirrors Festival in London on October 28 and go on a short UK tour with 4AD act Pixx after that.
