7digital has moved into live music with a new partnership on a platform targeting concert goers.
The b2b digital music company has signed a contract with Powerchord Ltd to work on the Peex brand, which aims to improve the live music experience with enhanced audio during the show and downloads following the performance.
Under the three-year deal, 7digital will provide technology and reporting services for the platform. Peex is set to launch soon in the UK, US and Europe, with wearable technology available for pre-sale later this summer.
7digital has also been working with consumer electronics giant MediaMarktSaturn Holdings to develop the Juke streaming music service across Europe. Juke has now launched in the Netherlands and was relaunched via the 7digital platform in Germany.
It is set to roll out in Spain in the coming months and will be extended to all 15 territories in which MMS operates. Each territory launch involves set-up fees and an increase in monthly charges for access to the 7digital platform.
“Our core strategy has focused on developing the next generation of digital music services that combine the best of radio and streaming,” said 7digital CEO Simon Cole. “The latest Juke territory launches represent the same commitment from our client MediaMarktSaturn.
“We’ve always thought that innovation in digital music services is where significant new business for 7digital will come from, and the new contract with Powerchord is a good example of that. We’re delighted to be working with clients who are serving their customers through innovating in digital music.”
7digital will announce preliminary results for 2017 next month.
