Nigerian born and London raised, soulful singer Aminu aka Noonzi, finally releases his brilliant, quirky, and fun remix video to his 2018 club hit single entitled, “Love U.”
The video, shot in London’s famous graffiti tunnel, was an unchecked box on Aminu’s list of video styles to do. So when the demand came for a video to accompany the remix known as, ‘Love U’ (Rob Ra House Mix), Aminu owned the moment.
“Instead of re-cutting the original video to fit the remix,” explains Aminu. “I wanted something lighter and fun to match the energy of the music.”
Enters Producer / Director Rob Ra, whose vision tells the tale in two very unique ways. “The original video in a word—dreamy,” says Ra. “While the remix video relates to those times when you see a couple disagreeing in public that usually ends with the guilty party trying to make things right.”
Aminu, having proved that he knows how to make your body move, with the likes of his first club hit, an afrobeats anthem called, ‘Shake U,’ has been flying back and forth working with various producers from studios in the UK to Nigeria. “The master plan is to release a double album,” says Aminu. “I have a love for afrobeats and the newly afrohouse, but I grew up listening to singers such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and even Frank Sinatra.”
‘Love U’ which reached no.11 in the Music Week club charts, is from Aminu’s upcoming 2020 album release entitled, ‘DYFM,’ which stands for ‘Do you feel me?’ His mixture of soulful vocals, sprinkled on top of car thumping beats that reminisce a time when you would fully immerse yourself into the hypnotic lyrics of your favourite song, and just sing and dance the night away - well, we’re sure you’ll feel the same about the smooth sound that is Aminu aka Noonzi.
