'Creative has always been our strength': Manners McDade makes key appointments

Manners McDade has made a key promotion and a new hire, Music Week can reveal.

As revealed in the latest issue, music and composition producer Jenna Fentimen has been upped to head of creative across Manners McDade’s music publishing and composer agency companies. Fentimen will oversee the agency, creative and sync team.

Ed Marquis has joined Manners McDade as music and composition producer. He’s had previous roles as a music supervisor for Soho Music, Jungle and Native. He will look after bespoke music for advertising, as well as pitching the roster alongside Fentimen.

Marquis will work alongside former Music Week Rising Star Clare Everson, creative manager, who continues to manage all sync and licensing at Manners McDade.

“This new team was really to have some cohesiveness in the creative output between the two companies,” said MD Harriet Moss. “With Jenna as head of creative, she’s across the two companies in that role overseeing the agency and the creative on the publishing side and all musical output from our writers and composers.

“Creative has always been our strength as a publisher, but also as an agency. So having an emphasis on how good we are at that creative side is key to bolstering both companies.”

“It’s a really interesting time for film scores,” said Fentimen. “I think people are approaching music in completely different and really innovative ways. We're really proud of the fact that all of our composers are working in completely new and exciting ways. We’re known for having innovative composers.”

Manners McDade specialises in film and TV composers. The roster includes Nils Frahm, Matthew Herbert, Oli Julian, Neil Cowley and Aisha Devi.

Marquis said: “I'm really excited to be involved in working with this raft of award-winning composers.”

The team at Manners McDade also includes publishing manager Michael Hatjoullis and composer manager Ruby Wasmuth, also a Rising Star in Music Week.
