WHERE: The trio met as teenagers in Limerick, where they used to sneak into late-night indie bar Costello’s Tavern.
There, they bonded over cheap booze and The Velvet Underground, and the idea to make music together took shape.
A CLASSIC BACKSTORY…
Yes, and the band soon left Limerick for Dublin and then London, where they’re now living. London-based Yala! are putting out Whenyoung’s second single, Pretty Pure, later this month.
AND ARE THEY TOURING?
January saw a couple of buzzy London shows, they supported Public Access TV and Husky Loops in February and have dates with Dream Wife and Declan McKenna to come.

It seems so. Yala! co-founder and ex-Maccabee Felix White has described Whenyoung’s nascent ability as “miraculous”. High praise indeed...
