Facebook's video calling platform Portal TV will now support streaming of music via Deezer.
The service, which allows users to make video calls to their WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger friends via their televisions, will now enable them to log into their accounts on the streaming service via an app.
“A smart device that is also part of the biggest social network in the world changes the game," argued Deezer’s chief product and growth officer Stefan Tweraser. "You can enjoy music and shows with your family without having to be on your phone. Our library of 56 million tracks is there for you with just a few simple commands.”
The Deezer app is available for Portal TV owners now. Users will be able to download the Deezer app on Portal, Portal Mini and Portal+ early next year. Amazon Alexa users can also access Deezer via Portal TV.
Earlier this year Deezer outlined its plans for a new User Centric Payment System (UCPS), which is set to launch in France in early 2020.
