Line-up announced for AIM's Women In Music evening

The Association Of Independent Music's (AIM) ninth annual Women In Music event has announced its artist keynote and full speaker line-up.

The event, which sold out in record time, will be held in City Hall in London on January 16 in association with Believe Digital and supported by the Mayor of London.

This year the keynote artist interview will be with Bella Union signed singer-songwriter Emmy The Great, and there will be a keynote address from new London Night Czar Amy Lamé.

Following the keynotes there will be a panel entitled Women in Music: The Next Generation, which will see a selection of the industry’s rising stars discussing their paths to success.  Speakers include Carla Marie Williams (songwriter for Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue and Girls Aloud, founder of Girls I Rate), Martha Kinn (manager, Years & Years – Machine Management), Stefania Pavlou (Media Relations Manager, PRS for Music), Chloé van Bergen (senior label manager, Believe Recordings), Sharon Matheson (business development manager (INgrooves). The session will be chaired by Lara Baker (marketing and events director, AIM).

The final panel of the evening will be Going Live: Women in Live Music, examining the challenges of women working in the notoriously male dominated live sector, the lack of female artists on festival bills and the safety of female music fans at live music venues and festivals. Speakers include Lauren Down (MD, End of the Road festival), Kelly Bennaton (marketing & PR, DHP Family), Karma Bertelsen (marketing manager, Kilimanjaro Live), Sarah-Anne Grill (tour manager, DJ Fresh, Sigma, Zara Larsson). It will be chaired by PRS For Music Foundation CEO Vanessa Reed.
