Polydor Records appoints Jodie Cammidge as promotions director

Polydor Records has announced the appointment of Jodie Cammidge as promotions director.

Cammidge has been with Universal Music UK for more than a decade, starting out in radio promotions at Polydor before joining the radio department at Virgin EMI where he spent the last nine years, rising to director of national radio.

At Virgin EMI, Cammidge was responsible for handling national radio campaigns for a vast array of artists including Florence & The Machine, Frank Ocean, Arcade Fire, The Stone Roses, Massive Attack, Beck, The Killers, Metallica, Ryan Adams, The Libertines and Black Sabbath. He was a key part of the teams behind launching Bastille, James Bay, Jake Bugg and Blossoms.

“Jodie is one of the most well-respected promotions guys in the UK industry,” said Polydor co-president Tom March. “We’re thrilled to have him back at Polydor, where he started his UMG career. I had the pleasure of working with Jodie at Virgin EMI, so I’ve witnessed first-hand his abilities. He delivers exceptional campaigns and results for his artists. Together with our department heads, Sarah Haddow in TV, Laurence Pinkus in national radio and Gavin Hughes in regional radio, we have an exceptional promotions team here at Polydor."

Co-president Ben Mortimer added: “Jodie’s just very well loved. By the artists he works with and his fellow executives. It’s also striking quite how much he’s done, for someone still relatively young in their career. We’re lucky to have him on board.”

Before joining Universal Music UK, Cammidge was head of radio at V2 Records where he looked after the campaigns for the likes of Lethal Bizzle, Stereophonics, Paul Weller and Underworld.

Cammidge said: “Tom and Ben are the most focussed and driven force I’ve ever witnessed. I'm beyond thrilled to be joining their inspiring team at Polydor at such an exciting time for the label and the music business."
