Proper Music Group opened its new Dartford warehouse for operations today (December 6).
The company, which was recently recognised at the Music Week Women In Music Awards, has been building up to the move from its current site in South London.
The move has involved transferring over five million units of stock, though the independent distributor closed for business for one day only. The 100,000 sq ft site in Wilmington, Dartford more than quadruples Proper’s capacity, as well as introducing automated conveyor systems and a single-storey pick and pack space.
Proper has also relaunched its website and revealed a new logo.
Drew Hill, MD of Proper Music Group, said: “The opening of our new premises in Dartford, along with the rebrand, mark an exciting step for Proper. We are now more equipped than ever to expand and develop our client roster, whilst further improving service efficiency to our existing clients. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and their hard work which has made this possible.”
Proper’s turnover up to 31 March 2016 hit a record figure of over £21 million. Its international clients include The Orchard, Concord Music Group, Kobalt Music Group, Redeye Worldwide and Believe Distribution Services.
The company’s move coincides with the new ownership of fellow independent distributor Cinram.
