Amazon Tickets boss Geraldine Wilson steps down

Amazon Tickets GM Geraldine Wilson has left the company, just two months after the exit of Prime Live Events division head Jason Carter.

Wilson (pictured), who has departed the firm for "personal reasons", joined forerunner Amazon Local in 2014, going on to lead Amazon Tickets when it was spun out the following year.

Speaking to Music Week earlier this year, she said: “Our vision is to be the world’s most customer-centric ticketing company. We launched in 2015, offering a very quick and easy booking process, low and all-inclusive prices, and a trusted service.

"People buy music, they stream music and increasingly they consume music in live events. It felt a very natural next step for us to be able to offer tickets to those live experiences."

Carter, the former head of BBC Introducing, left the business in the spring, also for personal reasons, just a month after taking on the role heading up Amazon's Prime Live Events series, which has featured the likes of Blondie, Texas and Katie Melua.

Amazon recently hired former Apple and EMI Music executive Alex Luke as the new head of programming and content strategy for Amazon Music.

Luke most recently served at The Valley Fund, a Silicon Valley VC shop. Prior to that he spent two years as EVP of A&R at EMI, joining from Apple in 2011, where he was director of music programming and label relations.
