Big Hit Entertainment and its label Source Music has today (September 4) confirmed it is holding a large scale global audition – christened ‘Plus Global Audition’ – for the launch of a new “next-generation” girl group, set to debut in 2021.
An official press release stated that Big Hit CEO Bang Si-Hyuk will “oversee production including music producing”, while CBO Min Hee-jin will, “lead the creative direction and branding that encompasses concept, video, and image.”
The audition will be held in 16 cities:
Los Angeles, New York City: October 5
Perth, Singapore: October 12
Melbourne: October 13
Busan, Gwangju, Osaka, Sapporo, Taipei: October 19
Seoul, Tokyo, Kaohsiung: October 20
Hanoi, Bangkok: October 26
Ho Chi Minh: October 27
Big Hit and Source Music newly opened the official social media channel for ‘Plus Global Audition’.
The press release stated that “more information in regards to the audition is to be disclosed”
Last month, Big Hit Entertainment recorded an operating profit of 39.1 billion KRW (£139mil GBP) in the first half of 2019.
