New edition of Music Week out now

Inside your new-look edition of Music Week we welcome Liam Gallagher to our cover. In his first ever Music Week interview - and as his debut solo album, As You Were, rockets up the charts - we speak to the iconic frontman to find out if he is ready to take on the world again. Here Gallagher pulls no punches as he dishes the dirt on the music biz, going solo and - yes – Oasis. Plus, Phil Christie, president of Warner Bros Records UK, and Mike Smith, managing director at Warner/Chappell, fill us in on the campaign masterplan behind Gallagher’s return.

Elsewhere, 25 years on after its inception, Music Week speaks to members of the Music Managers Forum to get an oral history of the organisation, and find out why it continues to go from strength to strength, representing more than 500 UK-based members. Also in the issue, Music Week gets a guided tour of Spotify’s Secret Genius songwriting camp by hitmaker Wayne Hector and Paul Adam, Spotify’s head of songwriter relations, Europe, to find out how the platform is celebrating songwriters. Plus, The Darkness and their team give us some incredible stories from throughout their near-20 year career in the music industry as they return with their fifth album, Pinewood Smile.

In news we take a look at the Q3 results, look at how the live sector has been affected by the horrific Las Vegas shootings and RCA UK MD Neil Hughes talks about Pink’s eagerly anticipated comeback album Beautiful Trauma.

On top of all of this, following our huge revamp, all sections of the magazine have a fresh new look and some new editorial additions. In our new regular feature Hitmakers, Jamie Scott talks about co-writing Major Lazer’s Justin Bieber-assisted mega-hit Cold Water with Ed Sheeran. Plus in our Aftershow feature, Oscar and Grammy-winning songwriter, not to mention president and chairman of ASCAP, Paul Williams reveals what his career has taught him…

Plus there’s all the very latest news, charts and analysis, including our new massively enhanced market shares and statistics page that goes deeper into the week's sales and streaming figures than ever before.
