'Our catalogue is in the hands of loving music fans': Soundway partners with Third Side Music

Soundway has signed a global administration deal with Third Side Music.

Label and publisher Soundway was founded by English DJ and music producer Miles Cleret in 2002 and has since gone on to release a collection of compilations and reissues of African, Caribbean, Latin and Asian music from the 1950s-80s. It has also released artists such as Batida, Ibibio Sound Machine and The Heliocentrics among others.

Soundway MD Paula J. Duran said: “Third Side Music understand what true independence in the music industry means today. We are proud to say that at last our catalogue is in the hands of loving music fans.”

Third Side Music VP and A&R, Jeff Waye, said: “I’m not saying I only do deals with companies where I’m already spending excessive amounts of money filling my record shelves with their releases… but it sure helps my decisions. Couldn’t be happier to now be calling listening to hours upon hours of Soundway unearthed jams work.”

Founded in 2005, Third Side Music is an independent synchronisation licensing and copyright administration company. Soundway will now be joining Third Side Music’s roster including artists such as Courtney Barnett, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Kurt Vile as well as their catalogues which include The Clyde Otis Music Group, Studio One/Jam Rec and Galt MacDermot.
